Not quite the "farmhouse" look I was going for

Today, I just love my shelves.
Jay made them for me at Christmas.

We played around with it last week,

This guy has kind of fallen under the wayside this week with his daddy and sister being sick
and Mommy helping big brother with school.
He is so good at entertaining himself.
He pulled out the ole cars rug and played for quite sometime today.

Poor Avril started throwing up at church yesterday.
She continued through the rest of the day and all night into the early morning hours.
Daddy stayed home just in case we needed to take a trip to the doctor.
She seems to have stopped for the time being but the little dear is completely wiped out.

Adam received Star Wars legos from Grami & Grampa for his birthday.
He could not wait to put them together.
So after church he and Daddy dumped them out on the table and got busy.
I think it made his day.

We had a small party for the boys' birthdays tonight.
Just grandparents, great-grandparents, & kidless aunts & uncles.
I try to make a special cake for them each year and after much debate
they finally agreed on this lion cake.
Of course the highlight of birthdays are the gifts, not the cake.

January 4th
Avril does not like me brushing her teeth.
She does.not.like.it.
So each night when I am done I hand over the toothbrush and let her have a turn.
This she likes.
And she always rinses with her pointer finger sticking out.

Adam always has biking on the brain.
He gets out his bike every time he's outside.
Today he was checking the chain and seeing if these would be good snow tires.
It was determined that he needs a new chain this spring.
It was also determined, after rapidly spinning each tire, that these tires would have to do for the snow.
I think there may be a new bike in store for this fellow a little later in the year.
Maybe once the snow has vanished.
January 2nd
On weekends Daddy brings Avril in to snuggle with us.
But like her mother, she thinks nothing compares to Daddy's snuggles.
